Decibel

A logarithmic unit used to express the ratio of two values of a physical quantity, often power or intensity. It is defined as ten times the common logarithm of the ratio of the two power levels. The decibel scale is widely used in acoustics, electronics, and telecommunications to represent large ranges of values concisely.
