Decibel

A logarithmic unit used to express the ratio of two values of a physical quantity, often power or intensity. In meteorology, it is frequently used to quantify radar reflectivity, which indicates the intensity of precipitation or other atmospheric targets. A 10 dB increase represents a tenfold increase in power.
