Antilog
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003568
The mathematical function that is the inverse of a logarithm, used in atmospheric science to convert a value from a logarithmic scale back to a linear one. It is frequently applied in calculations involving quantities that span many orders of magnitude, such as radar reflectivity or aerosol concentrations. For instance, the antilog is used to convert the logarithmic decibel (dBZ) value from weather radar into the linear reflectivity factor (Z).
