Echo power

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005253

The amount of electromagnetic energy received by a radar antenna after being reflected by atmospheric targets. This power is directly related to the reflectivity of the targets, such as precipitation particles, and their distance from the radar. It is a fundamental measurement used to derive radar reflectivity and other meteorological products.
