Incoherent echo
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006477
A radar return signal where the phase relationships between successive pulses are random or uncorrelated. This type of echo is characteristic of precipitation particles or other atmospheric targets that are moving randomly or are widely spaced. Incoherent echoes are typically used to measure reflectivity and radial velocity, but not spectral width directly.
