Received power
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008437
The amount of electromagnetic energy detected by a receiver, such as a radar antenna or radiometer, after it has propagated through the atmosphere. This power is a function of the transmitted power, the distance to the target, and the atmospheric attenuation and scattering properties. In radar meteorology, received power is used to infer characteristics of precipitation or other atmospheric targets.
