Vacuum level at infinity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012487
The potential energy of an electron that is infinitely far away from a material surface and at rest. This represents the absolute zero of the energy scale for electrons in a system. It is used as a fundamental reference for comparing energy levels in different materials.
