Neper

A logarithmic unit for ratios of two values of a field quantity, such as voltage or current, or a power quantity. The neper (Np) is based on the natural logarithm and is part of the International System of Quantities. One neper corresponds to a ratio of e (approximately 2.718) for a field quantity, and is equivalent to about 8.686 decibels.
