Femtobel
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002224
A logarithmic unit of ratio equal to one quadrillionth (10⁻¹⁵) of a bel. The bel is a unit that quantifies ratios, such as power or intensity, on a base-10 logarithmic scale, with the decibel (one-tenth of a bel) being the more frequently used unit. A femtobel represents an extremely small change on this scale, equivalent to 10⁻¹⁴ decibels, and is rarely encountered in practical industrial or trade applications.
