Ox's eye

A small, isolated cloud that appears as a harbinger of an approaching storm, particularly in tropical or subtropical latitudes. This colloquial term describes a patch of white cloud that grows and darkens, presaging the arrival of a squall or gale. The name originates from its initial appearance as a small, roundish spot against a clear sky, resembling the eye of an ox.
