Bull's eye squall
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004079
A squall that springs up in otherwise fair weather, particularly off the coast of South Africa. It takes its name from a small, isolated cloud that appears above the storm's hidden vortex and looks like a bull's eye. The cloud, not a radar pattern, is the origin of the name, and the gust it produces strikes with little warning.
