Bulk turbulence scale

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004078

A characteristic length scale representing the overall size or extent of turbulent eddies within a fluid flow, particularly in the atmospheric boundary layer. It provides a measure of the largest energy-containing eddies that dominate the turbulent transport of momentum, heat, and moisture. This scale is often related to the height of the boundary layer or the distance from a solid boundary.
