Point precipitation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-002061

  1. The amount of precipitation measured at a single, specific location, typically by a rain gauge. This measurement represents the rainfall or snowfall depth at that exact point, rather than an average over an area. It is a fundamental input for hydrological models and local weather analysis.

  2. Precipitation at a particular site, in contrast to the mean precipitation over an area.
