Rush of snowmelt flood

A rapid increase in water levels in rivers and streams caused by the sudden melting of a large snowpack. This phenomenon often occurs during periods of warm temperatures combined with rainfall, accelerating the melt rate. Such floods can lead to widespread inundation of low-lying areas and infrastructure damage.
