Sunspot minimum

The period within the approximately 11-year sunspot cycle when the number of sunspots observed on the Sun's surface is at its lowest. During this phase, solar activity, such as solar flares and coronal mass ejections, is generally at its least intense. A sunspot minimum marks the transition from one solar cycle to the next.
