Temperature-efficiency index

A bioclimatic index that combines temperature and precipitation data to characterize the effectiveness of climate in supporting plant growth. It assesses the availability of moisture relative to the thermal energy for evaporation. This index is often used in climate classification systems, such as the Thornthwaite classification.
