Temperature-efficiency ratio

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009542

A bioclimatic index that relates the effectiveness of temperature to the efficiency of precipitation in supporting plant growth. It quantifies the balance between heat availability for metabolic processes and water availability for transpiration and photosynthesis. This ratio is often used in ecological studies to classify climates and predict vegetation distribution.
