Tropical cyclone twins

A pair of tropical cyclones that form nearly simultaneously in opposite hemispheres, positioned almost symmetrically with respect to the equator. These cyclones are linked by a common large-scale atmospheric circulation pattern, specifically a strong cross-equatorial flow. This phenomenon is associated with the Madden-Julian Oscillation and can occur in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
