Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission

A joint space mission between NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) that operated from 1997 to 2015, designed to measure rainfall over the tropical and subtropical regions of the Earth. It carried instruments such as the Precipitation Radar and the TRMM Microwave Imager to provide detailed observations of rainfall intensity and distribution. Data from this mission significantly advanced the understanding of tropical weather and climate.
