Unit storm
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009888
A hypothetical rainfall event of a specified duration and uniform intensity, used as input for a unit hydrograph to determine the resulting runoff. This idealized storm allows hydrologists to model the watershed's response to a standardized precipitation event. The duration of a unit storm is typically chosen based on the watershed's characteristics.
