A prediction of future atmospheric conditions for a specific location and time, based on scientific understanding of atmospheric processes and current observations. Meteorologists use numerical weather prediction models, satellite data, and radar information to generate these predictions. Forecasts typically cover periods ranging from a few hours to several days ahead.
