Wet year

A year in which the total accumulated precipitation significantly exceeds the long-term average for a specific location or region. The definition of 'significantly' often involves statistical thresholds, such as being in the upper quartile or decile of historical precipitation records. Wet years can replenish water reserves but also increase flood risk.
