Winter monsoon

A seasonal wind system characterized by dry, cool air flowing from land to sea, typically occurring during the colder months. This phenomenon is driven by the large temperature difference between a cold continental landmass and a warmer ocean. The East Asian winter monsoon, for example, brings cold, dry air to much of Southeast Asia.
