A small, brightly colored marker attached to a wireline or slickline to indicate a specific depth or point of interest within the wellbore. This visual indicator allows operators to precisely position tools or identify a particular zone during downhole operations. Flags are commonly used in conjunction with depth counters to confirm tool placement and prevent over-running or under-running a target depth.
