Squeeze pressure

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003565

The pressure applied at surface to force cement slurry or sealant into perforations, a channel or a leak path during a squeeze. In a low-pressure squeeze it stays below the formation fracture pressure so the slurry enters existing openings, whereas a high-pressure squeeze deliberately exceeds it to break the formation and push slurry into the fracture. Surface gauges track it throughout, and a pressure that holds when pumping stops points to a good squeeze.
