Life-cycle assessment
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000197
A systematic analysis of the environmental impacts of a product or process throughout its entire lifespan, from raw material extraction to disposal or recycling. A life cycle assessment (LCA) quantifies inputs like energy and water and outputs like emissions and waste at each stage. For a semiconductor device, this includes silicon wafer production, fabrication, packaging, use phase energy consumption, and end-of-life management.
