3D printing
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000425
The process of creating a three-dimensional object from a digital file by successively adding material in layers. A digital model is first sliced into numerous horizontal cross-sections, which the printer then deposits or fuses layer by layer to build the final physical part. The term is often used interchangeably with additive manufacturing, although 3D printing is sometimes more specifically associated with non-industrial, consumer-level machines and applications.
