Topology optimization

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000391

A computational method that determines the optimal material distribution within a defined design space for a specified set of loads, boundary conditions, and constraints. This process aims to maximize performance characteristics such as stiffness or minimize material usage. The resulting geometries often feature organic, complex forms that are difficult to produce with traditional manufacturing methods but are well-suited for additive manufacturing.
