3D searching
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000017
A computational method for searching a database of chemical structures to find molecules that match a query defined by three-dimensional geometric constraints. The search query can be a specific conformation of a molecule or a pharmacophore model specifying the spatial arrangement of chemical features. This technique is distinct from 2D substructure searching, which only considers the connectivity of atoms.
