Describing a substance or material that elicits a specific, measurable biological response when introduced into a living system. This response can include stimulating cell growth, promoting tissue regeneration, or inhibiting bacterial activity. Bioactive materials are widely used in biomedical applications, such as implants and drug delivery systems.
