Indication
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005769
The reading that a measuring instrument or measuring system delivers, shown for example as a pointer position on a scale, a displayed number, or a code output. It may be expressed in the instrument's own units, such as volts or counts, rather than in units of the measurand. It differs from the measured quantity value, which is obtained by applying calibration to the indication.
