Isoflavones

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006187

A class of flavonoids characterized by a 3-phenylchromen-4-one skeleton, meaning the phenyl group is attached at position 3 of the chromone ring. This structural arrangement differentiates them from flavones, where the phenyl group is at position 2. Isoflavones are commonly found in soybeans and other legumes.
