Neoflavans
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013328
A class of natural phenolic compounds based on the 4-phenylchroman skeleton, which distinguishes them from the 2-phenylchroman structure of flavans. These compounds are a subgroup of neoflavonoids, characterized by a C6-C3-C6 carbon framework where a benzene ring is directly attached to the three-carbon chain. Neoflavans and their derivatives are found in certain plant families and exhibit a range of biological activities.
