Biflavonoids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001213
A class of natural phenolic compounds formed by the oxidative coupling of two flavonoid monomer units. The linkage between the two flavonoid moieties can occur between their A, B, or C rings, resulting in either a carbon-carbon bond or an ether linkage. These dimeric structures are found predominantly in plants, particularly in gymnosperms, and exhibit distinct chemical and biological properties compared to their monomeric counterparts.
