Glycosidic linkage
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004952
A covalent bond that connects a carbohydrate molecule to another group, which can be another carbohydrate or a non-carbohydrate moiety. This bond forms between the anomeric carbon of a saccharide and an oxygen, nitrogen, or sulfur atom of the other group. It is formed through a condensation reaction, releasing a molecule of water.
