Glycosyl group
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004954
A univalent radical derived from a cyclic monosaccharide by removal of the anomeric hydroxyl group. This group is formed when a sugar molecule loses its anomeric hydroxyl, allowing it to form a glycosidic bond with another molecule. For example, a glucosyl group is derived from glucose.
