Glycosylamines
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013133
A class of compounds in which a glycosyl group is attached to an amino group, NR2, or a substituted amino group. The bond between the sugar's anomeric carbon and the nitrogen atom is a carbon-nitrogen bond, distinguishing them from glycosides which have a carbon-oxygen bond. These compounds are also known as N-glycosides and are the structural basis for nucleosides, where a sugar is linked to a nucleobase like adenine or guanine.
