Oxidative coupling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008394
A chemical reaction where two molecular entities are joined together through the formation of a new bond, with the concomitant loss of electrons from one or both of the reacting species. This process often involves a metal catalyst and results in an increase in the oxidation state of the coupled product. An example is the Glaser coupling of terminal alkynes.
