Coupling reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002650
A chemical reaction that joins two molecular fragments, often through the formation of a new carbon-carbon bond, to create a larger molecule. In polymer chemistry, this can refer to reactions that link polymer chains or monomers to form longer chains or networks. Many coupling reactions are catalyzed by transition metals.
