Pipelining programs

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008979

A computational workflow where multiple, distinct software programs are executed in sequence, with the output of one program serving as the input for the next. This modular approach allows for the construction of complex multi-step protocols from simpler, specialized tools. Pipelining is frequently applied in high-throughput virtual screening, where a large chemical library is progressively filtered through stages such as 3D structure generation, docking, and scoring.
