Resolution phase

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010238

The final stage of the human sexual response cycle, following orgasm, in which the body returns to its unaroused state as genital blood engorgement subsides and heart rate and blood pressure fall. It comes after the excitement, plateau and orgasm phases of the Masters and Johnson model. Men pass through a refractory period in which renewed arousal is not possible, whereas women may be capable of further orgasm soon afterward.
