Risk evaluation

The process of determining the significance or acceptability of identified risks, often involving a comparison of estimated risks with societal values, economic considerations, and legal requirements. This step goes beyond scientific assessment to incorporate policy judgments and stakeholder input. It informs decisions about whether a risk is tolerable or requires mitigation.
