Risk hypotheses

Testable statements that describe the potential relationships between stressors, exposure, and ecological effects within an environmental risk assessment. These hypotheses guide the design of studies and the collection of data to evaluate the likelihood and nature of adverse impacts. They are formulated based on existing knowledge and conceptual models.
