The fifth generation of wireless mobile telecommunications technology, designed to deliver significantly higher speeds, lower latency, and greater capacity than previous generations. It supports new applications such as enhanced mobile broadband, ultra-reliable low-latency communications, and massive machine-type communications. 5G networks can achieve theoretical peak speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second.
