Dithering
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000315
A technique used in computer graphics to simulate a wider range of colors or shades than a display or output device can natively produce. It achieves this by strategically placing pixels of available colors in patterns that, when viewed from a distance, create the illusion of intermediate tones. This method is often employed in images with limited color palettes, such as GIFs.
