A standard for computer display hardware that includes both a display resolution and a 15-pin D-subminiature connector. Introduced by IBM in 1987, it provided a resolution of 640x480 pixels with 16 colors, or 320x200 with 256 colors. While largely superseded by digital interfaces like DVI and HDMI, the VGA connector is still found on some older equipment.
