VFAT

Virtual File Allocation Table, an extension to the FAT file system that introduced support for long filenames, beyond the 8.3 character limit of original FAT. It was primarily used in Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows NT. VFAT allowed filenames up to 255 characters by storing them in multiple 8.3 entries.
