DTD
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000349
A set of markup declarations that define the structure and legal elements and attributes for an XML (Extensible Markup Language) document. A Document Type Definition (DTD) acts as a schema, providing the rules for the document's grammar so that parsers can validate its content and structure. While DTDs are native to XML 1.0, newer schema languages like XML Schema (XSD) and RELAX NG provide more powerful and flexible validation capabilities.
