Grep

A command-line utility in Unix-like operating systems used for searching plain-text data sets for lines that match a regular expression. It prints the lines that contain the match to standard output. The name "grep" derives from the ed editor command "g/re/p", meaning "globally search for a regular expression and print matching lines".
