A video compression standard, also known as High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), designed to provide substantially improved compression efficiency over its predecessor, H.264. It allows for the same video quality at roughly half the bitrate or significantly higher quality at the same bitrate. This standard supports resolutions up to 8K UHD and is widely used for streaming and broadcasting.
